Mrs. Lillie Howell Fincher, 88, passed away July 3 at her home in Lexington where she had lived the past 65 years.
She was a lifelong resident of Holmes County, a daughter of Frances Ashborn Howell and Elizabeth Nabers Howell.
Mrs. Fincher was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Lexington having been secretary for the Sunday School Class for 49 years.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. from First United Methodist Church with Rev. E.S. Furr assisted by Kenneth Sissell officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
She leaves a son, W.H. Fincher, Jr. of Lexington: two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Margaret Reid of Lexington and Mrs. Marv F. Slaughter of Jackson: seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Vernon Hathcock, Harold Hammett, Wilburn Hooker, Pep Tidwell, George Patterson and J.M. McRae.
