Madison McLellan Rites Held Monday Afternoon

Mr. Madison McLellan, member of a well known Holmes county family, passed away at the Community Hospital in Lexington Sunday, March 16th, after an illness of some time.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Lexington Monday afternoon at four o’clock with the following Lexington ministers officiating: the Rev. L. E. Burnette, the Rev. A. Y. Brown and the Rev. R. G. Valentine. Interment was in the Lexington cemetery with Southern in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McLellan was a native citizen of Holmes county and had lived all his life here. He made his home at Owens for about fifteen years before moving to Lexington several years ago.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lillie Rodgers McLellan, one daughter, Mrs. Irby Ellington, the former Elaine McLellan, of Lexington; and two sons, Mr. W. R. (Bill) McLellan and Mr. R. N. (Bob) McLellan, all of Lexington.

One grandson, William Edward Ellington, and his step-mother, Mrs. Mittie McLellan, also survive.

Pallbearers were P. H. Williams, D. C. Lundy, W. E. Thurmond, Jack Reid, George Patterson and C. M. McDaniel.
