In November of 1938 she married Sam Foose, Jr. of Tchula. After World War II, Katherine and Sam returned to Tchula where they spent most of their married life. Sam raised cotton, and Katherine spent her days as a devoted housewife and loving mother of four children.
A devout Christian, Mrs. Foose was an active member of the United Methodist Church. She also worked tirelessly in the Tchula Garden Club to beautify the Town of Tchula and to establish and maintain Pinecrest Cemetery. In later years she and Sam moved to Lexington where they enjoyed their remaining years together.
After being widowed and because of failing health, Mrs. Foose moved in 2003 into the home of her daughter, Nancy Katherine Barrett in Lexington. In this home, surrounded by her family and dear friends, she spent her last days.
