Mrs. S. H. Herbert
passes At Memphis
Services for Mrs. Mary D. Herbert, former resident of Lexington for 68 years, who died Sunday morning at Memphis, were held Monday afternoon at the First Methodist church in Lexington. The Rev. A. Y. Brown officiated.
Mrs. Herbert, who was 88, was born and reared in Lexington and lived here until she moved to Memphis 20 years ago. She was the widow of S. H. Herbert.
She leaves three sons, W. B. Herbert of Memphis: J. G. Herbert of Lexington; S. A. Herbert of New York; and five daughters, Mrs. C. O. Povall, of Lexington; Mrs. Lucille H. Herbert of Montgomery, Ala.; Mrs. E. F. Rhea, Mrs. L. Alexander and Mrs. R. F. LaCroix, all of Memphis.
Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery with National Funeral Home of Memphis in charge.
Pallbearers were L. P. Johnson, Alfred Huntington, Edwin White, John G. Herbert, Jr., Ben S. Beall, Jr., Roy Brown, H. P. Watson and Henry Hooker.
