Mrs. Mary Emily Read
Services for Mrs. Mary Emily Read, 86, of Gretna, La., were held Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with burial in Odd Fellows cemetery.
Mrs. Read, a native of Holmes County, died Nov. 13, 1995 at Meadow Crest Hospital in Gretna. She worked for the Holmes County Hospital for 10 years and also with Marrero Medical Clinic and Surgery Center in Gretna. She was a member of the Gretna United Methodist Church.
She leaves her husband, Buster Read of Gretna, La.; a son, Jerry Read of Ocean Springs; a daughter, Mary Lou Friley of Gretna; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Rev. Crawford Ray officiated and Southern Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were John Raiford Ellison, Watt Ervin, Dick Temple, Woodson Earle, Phillip Chisolm and Read Friley.
