Obituary
Luther Mayo, Local Merchant, Buried Friday
Funeral services Luther T. Mayo, 59, were held Friday at 10 a. m. at Beulah Baptist Church with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mayo died at his home in Lexington Wednesday after an extended illness.

Officiating ministers at the funeral were the Reverends Bob Scott, Crawford Ray and David Skinner. Southern Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

A lifelong resident of Lexington, Mr. Mayo was a veteran and a member and a deacon of Beulah Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Peninger Mayo of Lexington; five brothers Lois Mayo, Chesteen Mayo, Lawrence Mayo, and Lee Mayo, all of Lexington, and Lige Mayo of Florida; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Sykes of Lexington.

Pallbearers were Hilton Holly, Jack Farmer, Dutch Farmer, Loyd Wilkerson, Wayne Covington, Billy Gilmore, Tom Cothran and A. J. Davis.
