Obituary 

Peggy O’Neal McDade

Services for Mrs. Peggy O’Neal McDade, 88, of Lakewood Personal Care Home, Columbus, were held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Rev. Fuller Saunders officiated. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mrs. McDade died Friday, July 3 of respiratory distress at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.

A native of Columbia, she was a homemaker, and a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Jackson.

She is survived by a daughter, Patsy McDade McGahey of Columbus: three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James B. McDade and a grandson, Arthur McGahey.

Active pallbearers were Robert Whitaker, Thomas McGahey, Griffen McGahey, Brian Emory, Brad Emory and George Ellison.

Honorary pallbearers were Harry Dowdle and deacons of Woodland Hills Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Woodland Hills Baptist Church, 3327 Old Canton Rd., Jackson, MS 39216.
