Ann Mullen McWilliams

Ann Mullen McWilliams, 83, retired teacher, died of congestive heart failure Thursday, August 22, 2002, at Lexington Manor Nursing Home.

Services were held Saturday, August 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with Rev. James Salter officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mrs. McWilliams was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington. She was born January 19, 1919, to William P. Mullen and Laura Pannell Mullen of Lucien. She was a graduate of MSCW. She taught in the public school system for 30 years. She taught at Water Valley, Holcomb, Lexington and retired from Durant High School in 1980.

Survivors include: husband, Will P. McWilliams of Lexington; daughter, Beth M. Hartness of Kosciusko; one brother, William H. Mullen of Houston, Texas; one sister, Elizabeth M. Tate of Jackson; 2 granddaughters; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Serving as active pallbearers were: David Calvert, Billy Calvert, Tommy Dale Gunn, Bill Tate, Bill Davis, and Johnny Allen.

Honorary pallbearers were: Wayne Mullen, John Downer, Woodson Earle, Hosea Grisham, Fred Powers, Charles Carson, and Tony Woo.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
