Funeral services for David Beatty Miles, 62, were held Saturday morning at Southern Funeral Chapel in Lexington. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Officiating was the Reverend Crawford Ray, pastor of First Methodist Church, of which Mr. Miles was a member. Southern was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Miles, long prominent in business and civic activities, died of gunshot wounds about 8:30 Friday morning. A coroner's jury ruled the death accidental.
It was revealed that Mr. Miles had been working in his yard, was seen to take his shotgun from a pickup truck and lean it against a tree.
