Lexington Passes

Mrs. Minnie Lockhart Beall, member of a prominent pioneer family of Holmes county passed away Saturday night at 9:30 at the Community Hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at five o'clock at the family residence with the Rev. A. Y. Brown officiating. He was assisted by Dr. J. T. McCafferty, former Methodist pastor in Lexington. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.
Mrs. Beall was postmaster in Lexington up until January when she resigned because of ill health. During her tenure of office she served as secretary of the State Association of Postmasters. She was prominent in the church, civic and club organizations in the city and had a wide circle of friends who mourn her death. She was 64 years old on Sunday, the day she was buried.
She was born and reared in Durant and was married to George S. Beall, Jr. on June 4, 1902.
Surviving are the husband, and one son, John Howard Beall; one granddaughter, little Miss Beth Beall; two brothers, Marvin Hays, of Brookhaven, and Edgar Hays, of Tchula.
Interment was at Odd Fellows cemetery with Southern Undertaking Association conducting.
