Obituary
O. B. “Buddy” Byrd

Funeral services for O. B. “Buddy” Byrd, 64, of Lexington were held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 7 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Officiating ministers were Rev. John Sproles and Rev. Trey Earnhardt. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

A native of Holmes County, he was a retired Mississippi State Highway employee and a member of Hebron Methodist Church.

Survivors include: wife, Nettie Lena Spell Byrd of Lexington; sons, Clarence Byrd and Allen Byrd, both of Lexington; daughters, Ann Byrd of Brandon and Judy Byrd Chandler of Pickens; and one grandchild.

Serving as active pallbearers were Mart Chandler, Jerry Chandler, Tommy Gantt, Bob Womack, Billy Mac Ables and Jimmy Floyd Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers were Billy Causey, Boswell Peacock, Bo Edwards and James Harkness.
