After Long Illness
Funeral services for Mr. Lawrence W. Rabb, prominent resident of Holmes County, were held Friday, September 9 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Methodist church in Lexington with Rev. M. J. Peden conducting the services, assisted by the Rev. H. C. McKibben. Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Southern in charge.
Mr. Rabb, who was 71 years old, was born October 30, 1883, in Yazoo County near Midway. He had been a resident of Lexington 21 years and was a member of the Methodist Church. Mr. Rabb was a retired certified public accountant and also welfare agent for Holmes County for about 25 years. He had served since 1930 until the first of this year, when he retired due to ill health.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie McCaleb Rabb; a son, Lawrence W. Rabb. Jr. of Meridian; a daughter, Miss Bettye Jean Rabb of Lexington; a brother, Oscar C. Rabb of Opelousas Louisiana; a sister, Mrs. Weta Rabb Lay of Denver, Colorado, and two grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were: Glower Johnson, Talbert Nabors, Adam Henrich, Walter Durham of Durant, Carlton Alien, Jonn Kimbrough.
