LEXINGTON, Miss., Feb. 12. — Ernest Franklin Rathell, planter and cattleman of Lexington, died at home here Wednesday afternoon. He was 71 years old.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Lexington Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery with Southern Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Rathell was a lifelong Holmes County resident. He was a Mason, a Shriner and a World War I veteran. He was a member of Lexington Presbyterian Church.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Maude Rathell; a son, Ernest Rathell Jr. of Lexington; two daughters, Mrs. Dan McCullen of Jackson and Mrs. Charles McCain of LaGrange, Ga.; two sisters, Miss Susie Rathell and Mrs. Charlie Lundy, both of Lexington; a brother, Abe Rathell of Lexington, and seven grandchildren.
