Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church this afternoon at 3 o’clock conducted by Rev. J. T. McCafferty. Interment will be made in Odd Fellows cemetery.
Claude Reid was a prominent and useful citizen. Since early manhood he has been identified in an official capacity in county affairs serving as deputy sheriff under various administrations. For many years he has served as Justice of the Peace in District No. 1 and was re-elected last August by an overwhelming vote for another term. He was well-versed in the law and its interpretations.
A member of a prominent Holmes county family, he was horn on the Reid plantation about 7-miles west of Acona. He was a member of the Methodist church. He belonged to the Woodmen and for many years acted as Camp secretary until ill health forced his retirement.
He is survived by a sister and brother, Miss Rosalie Reid and J. C. Reid, both of Lexington to whom sympathy is extended in their sorrow and loss.
