Carl “Teat” Rodgers, Jr.

Carl “Teat” Rodgers, Jr. passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the age of 81.Mr. Rodgers was owner and operator or Rodgers Parts Company until his retirement.He was an active member of Oregon Memorial Church, where he served as deacon.He was affectionately known as “Pop” to his family.In addition to his love of church and family, Mr. Rodgers was an avid golfer.

Mr. Rodgers is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Bailey Rodgers; 3 children, Clay (Mickie) Rodgers of Lexington, Cathy (Bob) Spewak of Falls Church, VA and Gail (Bert) Langford of Lexington; along with 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.He is also survived by a sister, Rachel O’Kelly of Lexington, and a brother, Wayne (Nell) Rodgers of Collierville, TN; his Oregon Church family; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Lee Rodgers; parents, Carl and Effie Rodgers and a brother, Bill Rodgers.

The funeral service was held Saturday, June 8 at 11 a.m. at Oregon Memorial Church with burial following in Odd Fellows Cemetery.Pallbearers were: Greg Rodgers, Blake Langford, Justin Langford, Josh Christenson, Jeremy Gillean and Bill Walker.Honorary pallbearers were: Henry Gordon, Charles Carson, Billy Zeigler, James Kimbrough, James Hodges and Tony Woo.Bro. Lyn Nations and Bro. Larry Edwards officiated.
