Kenneth Lee Rodgers buried in Lexington Wednesday, Dec. 9th
Funeral services for Kenneth Lee (Ken) Rodgers, 29, of Lexington were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9 at Southern Funeral Home. Officiating ministers were the Rev. Tom Hollowell and the Rev. Michael O’Brien. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Mr. Rodgers, part owner of Rodgers Auto Parts in Lexington, died Monday, December 7 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson of heart failure.
A native of Holmes County, he had lived in Lexington all his life. He was a member of Oregon Memorial Church, was president of Owen Wells Riding Club, an active member of the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department, Assistant Fire Chief, and was on the Board of Directors of the East Mississippi Horse Show Association.
Survivors include: his wife, Tina Lynn Laird Rodgers of Lexington; his parents, Carl Rodgers, Jr. and Patricia Bailey Rodgers of Lexington; one brother, Clay Rodgers of Lexington; two sisters, Cathy A. Christenson of Springfield, Virginia and Gail Langford of Lexington; 12 nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers were Mitchell Harthcock, James Self, Vernon Hathcock, Bill Develin, Jim Hughes, Keith Alford, Aubrey Johnson, Jr. and James Kimbrough.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department and Billy Russell, James Hodges, Jesse Gilbert, and Randy Parkinson.
