Rites Saturday For Roy Brown

Funeral services for Roy M. Brown of Plain, were held Saturday, February 28, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Lexington, with the Reverend Shelby Hathorn officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery with Southern in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brown died Thursday, February 26, at his home. He was 64.

A retired salesman, he was a Scottish Rite Mason, a member of Lexington F. and AM Lodge, Wahabi Shrine, and a Methodist.

He owned and operated the International Harvester Place in Lexington for several years, was a member of the Board of Supervisors for four years, and operated Jackson Air Service for some time.

He leaves a brother, Percy G. Brown of West Monroe, Louisiana; and two aunts, Mrs. Ethel Whittington, and Mrs. Blanche Bibby of Atlantic, Iowa.

Pallbearers were Frances Criss, Jim Criss, David Richards, Dennis McRae, Roy Cole and Wesley Jackson.
