Obituary
Preshia Ruth Holloman Duke
Funeral services for Mrs. Preshia Ruth Holloman Duke, 83, of Lexington, were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 5 in Southern Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating minister was the Rev. Mike O'Brien. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Mrs. Duke died Saturday. August 3 at the home of her sister in Raymond after an extended illness.
She was a native of Kennedy, Alabama, was a retired bookkeeper and secretary, was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington.
She was the widow of Robert Duke who made a career of the Army Air Force. Mrs. Duke trained as a Grey Lady and wherever they were stationed she volunteered her services at the base hospital.
Survivors include two brothers, Clarence Holloman of Grenada and Billy Holloman of Huntsville, Texas; three sisters, Irene Harthcock of Raymond, Margaret Murphy of Lexington, Elizabeth Hull of Bay Springs; and many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were Johnny Word, Miles Holloman, Marty Harthcock, Andy Harthcock, Bob Gilfoy, and Watt Ervin.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Central Mississippi, 2600 Insurance Center Drive, Suite B120, Jackson. MS 39216-4911 or a favorite charity.
