Mrs. Rodgers Passes at Home in County
Mrs. Sarah Eubanks Rodgers, pioneer citizen of Holmes County, Miss., And mother of W. C. Rodgers, Memphis attorney, died suddenly at 8 o'clock Saturday morning, December 10, at her home at Owens Wells. She was 78.
At her bedside when she died were two sons, W. C. Rodgers of Memphis and Hillman P. Rogers, associated with the Memphis paper Co., who lived in Brunswick, Tenn. The two sons, with their families, were spending the weekend at their mother's home.
Mrs. Rodgers was a native of Lexington Her husband, William Clay Rogers, died nearly a year ago.
Surviving are six sons: W. C. Rodgers, Memphis; Hillman P. Rodgers, Brunswick, Tenn.; M. L Rodgers, Lake Village, Ark.; R. D. Rodgers, Rolling Fork, Miss.; Frank H. Rodgers, Richton, Miss., and Carl Rodgers, Durant; and a daughter, Mrs. J. D. Gibson, Hartley, Miss. She was the mother of the late Clinton E. Rodgers, Lexington.
Services were conducted at Lexington. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
