Military Notes
As provided by Wyatt Smith regarding his father: "Dad served in the Army Air Corp in WWII. He entered the Army on his birthday in 1943 and was assigned to the 493rd Bomb Group stationed at Debach, England. This was a B17 bomber based. He served in a ground support unit. During this time the Germans were launching V2's toward London. One night one hit not far from my father's tent. I am sure those were difficult times for all of those young men who served."
