Janeice Shipp Sterling

Janeice Shipp Sterling of Lexington, died peacefully in her home on October 25, 2015. She was 89.

Mrs. Sterling was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Shipp and Maude Tidwell Shipp, her husband CE "Phil" Sterling, her sisters Ida Kate Fisher and Sadie Mae Young.

She leaves behind a large loving family who adored her. They include two daughters, Claudia Sayle (David) of Germantown, TN, and Jennifer Brown (Bob) of Lexington, and four sons, Bubba Sterling (Nanci) of Collierville, TN, Phil Sterling, Jr, and Wes Sterling, both of Lexington, and Marvin Sterling (Melissa) of Bartlett, TN. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Sterling worked for many years as a nurse for Dr. John Downer of Lexington and for Dr. George Nassar of Greenwood.

A celebration of her life was held on Tuesday, October 2, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Lexington with burial at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers (Barbara, LaTonya, Annette, Teresa, Sara, and Darlene) that provided such compassionate care during her illness, and to First Baptist Church-Lexington for the lovely reception that followed her burial.
