Thomas D. Smith
Graveside services for Thomas D. Smith, 54, of Jackson, Tennessee were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 11 in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington. Officiating minister was Rev. Joel Smith. Southern Funeral Home of Lexington was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Smith died of cancer on Friday, March 8 at Regional Hospital of Jackson, Tennessee.
A native of Pike County, he was a retired maintenance worker with the Federal Government. He was a member of the National Guard and a Methodist. Mr. Smith had only lived in Jackson, Tennessee for about a year. Prior to moving there he had lived in Greenville and had worked in Yazoo City.
Survivors include: his wife, Estelle Smith of Jackson, Tennessee; daughters, Terri Thrasher of Jackson and Rose New of Greenville; brother, Billy Smith of Carrie, Ohio; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers were Buddy McNutt, Tommy Nevels, Ray Mathis, Tim Hopson, Larry Thrasher, and Frank Harrison.
