Obituary

Rachel Barrett Thompson
Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Barrett Thompson, 89, of Lexington, were held Tuesday, June 2 at 2:00 p.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating minister was Dr. Michael O’Brien. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mrs. Thompson died Monday, June 1 at Methodist Hospital of Middle Mississippi in Lexington of heart failure.

The widow of Lester Russell (Jelly) Thompson, she was a Lexington native and a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington.

Survivors include two brothers, W. B. Barrett and Pat M. Barrett, both of Lexington and seven nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers were Harold Hammett, Jr., Chick Weathersby, John Weathersby, H. H. Neill, Dan Pepper, and A. B. Holder.
