Obituary
W. O. Thompson
Funeral services for W. O. Thompson, 102, of Lexington were held Friday, September 13 at 11:00 a.m., in Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Rev. Tom Hollowell was the officiating minister. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mr. Thompson, one of Lexington's oldest residents, died Wednesday, September 11 at his residence.

A native of Tennessee, he was born April 9, 1889 in Perry County. He was a retired Lexington City Tax Collector, a member of First Methodist Church of Lexington, and a World War I Army veteran. He and Mrs. Thompson had been married for 65 years.

Survivors include his wife, Maude Vise Thompson of Lexington; two daughters, Doris Ellison of Lexington and Helen Baird of Marshall, Texas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Serving as active pallbearers were Dale Powers, Doug Aldrìdge, Holt Smith, Billy Ellis, Chick Weathersby, Billy Cash, and Frank Hughes.
