Obituary
W. H. Scott Buried Here Sunday Afternoon
Funeral services for W. H. Scott, retired Band Director were held Sunday, October 2 at 2 p. m. in Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend David Pratt, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Mr. Scott, 76, died early Saturday morning at Holmes County Community Hospital after an extended illness. Born in Montgomery, Alabama, Mr. Scott was director of the Lexington High School Band for twenty-three years. He had also directed the bands at Decatur, Tchula and Durant. He was a veteran of World War I, having played with the 342nd Field Artillery Band in France and Germany. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the First Baptist Church, and was also a member of the Mississippi High School Band.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Opal White Scott, and a daughter Mrs. Evelyn Rutledge, both of Lexington.

Pallbearers were C. M. McDaniel, Pepper Tidwell, Bob McLellan, Bill McLellan, Frank Hughes, Vernon Hathcock, Lorance Frost, and Herman Flowers.
