Emmie Walton was born July 1, 1899 in Holmes County and made her home in Pickens for a number of years prior to moving to Lexington. Her parents were the late Mr. Henderson Wade Walton and Mrs. Lela Hamilton Walton. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
She had two nephews, Bobby Burns of Drew and S.L. Burns, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee; three nieces, Mrs. Lute Ellison of Lexington, Mrs. Anita Davis of Ruleville and Mrs. Upine Williford of Drew; and a cousin, Mrs. Ruth Cade of Lexington.
