Julian Beall Watson
Funeral services for Julian Beall Watson, farmer and cattleman, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, January 3 at the First Methodist Church with Reverend E. S. Furr officiating. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Southern Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Watson died Thursday morning at the Holmes County Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born and reared in Lexington, he was the son of the late Mr. John Stewart Watson and Mrs. Clara Beall Watson, prominent Holmes County families.
Mr. Watson graduated from Lexington High School and attended Mississippi State University. From 1935 to 1951 he was employed with the Warren County Health Department in Vicksburg. In 1951 he returned to Holmes County to begin farm operations at Franklin. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, a member of Lexington Rotary Club and former member of the Lions Club in Vicksburg.
Survivors Include his wife, Mrs. Juanita Powers Watson; one son, Julian Beall Watson, Jr. of Jackson; one sister, Clara Watson of Lexington; two brothers, John Stewart Watson, Jr. of Lexington and Malcolm D. Watson of Jackson; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. - Watson of Kosciusko, Mrs. Raiford Watson and Mrs. Malco1m Watson of Jackson.
Pallbearers were Allie S. Povall, Ed Thurmond, Bill Watson, Malcolm Watson, Jr., Henri Watson, Lynn Jordan, and Kirkham Povall.
