Obituary
Funeral Services For W. B. Burwell Held Friday
Funeral services for William B. Burwell, 60, of Jackson were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the graveside in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington, with the Reverend Thomas H. Waggener, rector of Mary’s Episcopal Church officiating. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home was in charge.

Mr. Burwell died Wednesday night at Baptist Hospital. He was a native of Lexington and was educated in the Lexington schools and at the University of Mississippi.

He was s veteran of World War II, serving in the field artillery, and was a longtime resident of Houston, Texas where he was associated with the Houston Lighting and Power Company. Mr. Burwell retired in August 1971 and moved to Jackson to make his home. He was a member of the Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Stephen L. Burwell, Sr., four brothers, Steve Burwell, Brooks Burwell, James Burwell and John Burwell and one sister, Mrs. Mary Dyer Birdsong, all of Jackson.
