Obituary
William Thomas Chisholm
William Thomas “Billy” Chisholm, 43 died of leukemia at University Hospital in Jackson on Thursday, December 7.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 9 at First Baptist Church in Durant with Rev. Joel Smith officiating, assisted by Daniel Blaylock. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington with Southern Funeral Home of Durant in Charge of arrangements.
He was a native of Adams County and was employed as a job superintendent at Hammett Gravel Company in Lexington. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington.
Survivors include his fiancée, Dolores Bell of Durant; son, William Thomas Chisholm II of Durant; parents, T. O. and Jean Chisholm of Lexington; sisters, Debbi Branch of Sidon and Vivian McBride of West; brothers, Don Chisholm of Hampton, Virginia, Ronnie Chisholm and Brent Chisholm, both of Lexington.
Active pallbearers were Joe Ballard, Joe Ballard, Sr., Donald Byrd, Hal Hammett, Johnny Word, and Tommy Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers were James Bordelon, Harold Hammett, Jr., Richard Hammett, and Dick Atkinson.
