MRS. WILLIE MOORE
Mrs. Willie Lou Cain Moore, 91, widow of the late Dr. Charles A. Moore, died suddenly in her home in Lexington Friday evening, December 10.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 12 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Howard Allen was the officiating minister.
Mrs. Moore was a native of Vaiden until the time of her marriage to Dr. Moore in 1908. She had maintained her home in Lexington since that time and had enjoyed the privilege of having her son and daughter living with her. Her son, C.A. "Bud" Moore, Jr., is director of the Mississippi Aeronautic Commission and her daughter, Miss Meta Moore, is a former teacher in the Lexington schools.
During all her years, Mrs. Moore remained attentive to her personal affairs in addition to being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to the many children of the Moore friends. She was known with loving affection by all as Willie Moore.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the Baptist Church until her marriage at which time she united with the Presbyterian Church in Lexington. For the past 47 years Mrs. Moore was helped in her household activities by her faithful cook, Carrie Tate.
She is survived by one son, C.A. "Bud" Moore of Lexington; one daughter, Miss Meta Moore of Lexington; and a number of nieces and nephews including Dr. Charles Campbell of Lexington.
Pallbearers were Glen Campbell, Paul Campbell, Don Barrett, Pat Barrett, Jr., Jimmy Heidel, Bootsy Hooker, Wyche Hooker, Kim Kimbrough and John Weathersby.
