William Pahl Zemp

Funeral services for William Pahl “Bill” Zemp, 78, of Lexington, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 31 at First United Methodist Church in Lexington. Officiating minister was Rev. Tom Hollowell. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington. Southern Funeral Home of Lexington was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Zemp died of respiratory failure at his home in Lexington on Thursday, January 27.

A native of Seattle, Washington, he was a retired farmer and a member of First United Methodist Church in Lexington.

Survivors include: wife, Elizabeth Anne Harthcock Zemp of Lexington; daughters, Julia Kjaerstad of Byrne, Norway, Rebecca Jaynes of Carrollton, Alabama, Billie Carol Thornton of Palmetto, Florida, and Alice Raphael of Picayune; brother, Albert S. Zemp, Jr. of Wilmington, Delaware; and five grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were Matt Raphael, Eddie Jaynes, Thorbjorn Kjaerstad, Thrond Kjaerstad, Geoffrey Jaynes and Woodson Earle.
