Zimmer Rites

Edward S. Zimmer, 66, died unexpectedly Tuesday night, May 19, at the Vicksburg Hospital of an apparent heart attack.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Zimmer had lived in Vicksburg for the past 10 years. He was retired Chief of the Eastern District of Design and Construction of the National Park Service with headquarters in Philadelphia, Pa. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Moselle Hefner Zimmer of Vicksburg and a son, John E. Zimmer of San Francisco, California.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 9 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Allen, pastor of Westminister Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington, Miss. with Rev. David Pratt of Lexington conducting the graveside service.

Active pallbearers were Daniel Lee, Elmer Hill, David Lyons, Willie Wright, Jim Kretscham and Jim Ford.

Honorary pallbearers were W. B. Hall, W. J. Rumyon, William Bexley, Ryland Rudd, Dudley McCary, Ray Dormer, Junius McCaskill, William Smollen, Landman Teller, Dr. M. J. Hvorslev, Howard W. Cunningham, all of Vicksburg, De France McCormack of Ridgeland, Miss., Julian Watson, Billy Jones, and Sonny Russell of Lexington, Miss.
