Norman Weathersby, Sr. Dies
Suddenly Saturday Morning


Norman Weathersby, Sr., 67, prominent business leader in Lexington died suddenly at his home at 5:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30.

Services were held for Mr. Weathersby at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington with Rev. Howard Allen officiating.

Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Mr. Weathersby, a native of Liberty, Mississippi, attended the University of Mississippi and was a member of Sigmi Chi fraternity. He had been the Chevrolet dealer In Lexington since 1935.

He was a deacon in the Presbyterian Church, a former mayor of Lexington (1943-48), past president of Lexington Rotary Club, past president of Lexington School Board and secretary-treasurer of Delta Wildlife.

His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Glenn Weathersby.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Jean McDonald Weathersby of Indianola: two sons, Norman Weathersby, Jr. of Lexington and John McDonald Weathersby of Indianola; four grandchildren, Norman Weathersby, III, and Sharon Weathersby of Lexington; and John McDonald Weathersby, Jr., and Sayle Weathersby of Indianola.

Pallbearers were Pat Barrett, Jr., Don Barrett, James Cunningham, Bill McLellan, Frank Hughes, William Lewis of Oxford, B. W. Humphrey, Jr., William Moses and A. B. Holder. Honorary pallbearers were Deacons and Elders of the Presbyterian Church.
