Holmes Native Dies Thursday In Jackson
Walter Milton McRae, native Holmes countian, died at his home in Jackson, Tenn., last Thursday, July 25. Mr. McRae was born in Holmes County on February 12, 1899.
He had worked for the Singer Sewing Machine company from 1939 until his retirement in 1961, managing the Jackson, Tennessee, store from 1945 to 1953.
He was a member of the Lambuth Methodist Church in Jackson.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ray Cooper McRae; one son, Walter Cooper McRae of Jackson, Tenn.; one daughter, Mrs. W. C. Stewart, Jr., of Beaufort, South Carolina; three granddaughters, Cindy, Fae and Nancy McRae; one brother„ J. Phillip McRae of Jackson, Miss.; and seven sisters, Mrs. Leta Lee Moore, Lexington; Mrs. Mary Smith, San Antonio; Mrs. Mildred Johnson, Morgan City; Mrs. Sadie Ribhards, Greenwood; Mrs. Julia Criss, Grenada; Mrs. Janie Brown, Jackson, Miss. and Mrs. Jean Horton, Decatur, Texas.
