Mrs. Lota Lee McRae Moore
Mrs. Lota Lee McRae Moore, 82, wife of Richard Curtis Moore, died Thursday at her home in Cleveland.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14 at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with the Rev. Leslie Nabors and the Rev. Gene Russell officiating. Her grandson, Richard Cole, sang “How Great Thou Art”. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was born in Acona September 20, 1897, a daughter of James Edgar McRae and Dona O’Bryant McRae. She attended school in Acona and Mississippi Southern and taught school for five years in Holmes and Lamar Counties. After her marriage to Mr. Moore in 1920 they lived in Acona and Lexington until 1973 when they moved to Cleveland.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Rosalie Cole of Boyle; one son, Richard Curtis Moore, Jr. of Cleveland; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Smith of New Braunfels, Texas, Mrs. Mildred Johnson of Morgan City, Mrs. Julia Criss of Grenada and Mrs. Jean Horton of Monroe, La, one brother, J. P. McRae of Jackson; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
