Robert Willie Ware of Lexington, 72, a professional carpenter, died Sunday, March 18, 2007, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 20 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lexington with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Larry Edwards and Rev. Shannon Manning officiated.
Mr. Ware was born November 3, 1934, in Holmes County to the late Tommie Willie and Mabel Bailey Ware. He was a member of the Mississippi National Guard and a member of Oregon Memorial Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Opal C. Ware of Lexington; son, Nelson and wife Teresa of Madison; daughters, Robbie Bennett and husband Bruce, and Candy Goolsby and husband Joe, all of Flora; sisters, Carolyn Rinicker and husband Dudley, and Mary Elizabeth Eubanks, all of Lexington; 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers were: Zack Killebrew, Ted Batson, Dr. John Downer, George Wynne, Jr., David Dillon, Bill Warrington, Ed Thurmond, and Shane Johnson.
Active pallbearers were: Len Ware, Len Ware, Jr., Dr. Charles Campbell, Harrell Wilson, Frank Rogers, Allan King, Gene Austin, and Harvey Hearn.
